How to brew a drink
Most BreweryX drinks follow a simple sequence. Not every recipe uses every stage, so always check the recipe before starting.
- Check the recipe.
- Boil ingredients in a cauldron.
- Collect the brew in bottles.
- Distil if required.
- Age in the correct barrel if required.
- Check the final quality.
1. Check the recipe first
Write down the ingredients, quantities, cooking time, distillation runs, ageing requirement and wood type. One missing ingredient or an incorrect processing step can prevent the intended result.
2. Boil the ingredients
- Prepare a water-filled cauldron over a suitable heat source.
- Add the recipe's ingredients in the required quantities.
- Allow the mixture to boil for the recipe's stated cooking time.
- Use a clock on the cauldron to check cooking time where supported by your version/configuration.
3. Bottle the brew
Use glass bottles to collect the mixture. The exact interaction can vary slightly by version and configuration. If the result is not the intended drink, review the timings and ingredients before repeating the process.
4. Distil only when required
Place the bottled brew in a brewing stand with glowstone dust as the filter. Wait for the exact number of runs specified by the recipe. A recipe with distillruns: 0 does not require this stage.
5. Age in a barrel
Build a BreweryX-compatible barrel and use the wood type required by the recipe. A standard Minecraft barrel is treated as oak in the published defaults. Recipes can require a particular wood and a specific ageing time; do not assume any barrel works.
6. Check the result
Drink names may indicate poor, normal and good quality. Some recipes also define effects, custom lore, alcohol points or messages. The server's recipe configuration decides the final behaviour.
